Soaking In a Thought

"....we are drawn to things that feed our egos, yet starve our souls......"

This was one of the things I jotted down in my notes last weekend.

Why do I choose to spend time, energy and emotion in activity or relationships that do nothing but drain my soul?

Why do I care so much about having the approval of another human being?

Why do I allow one person's opinion, be it good or bad, determine my mood!

I don't know if I'll elaborate on this, but this statement has been on my mind for the better part of three days, so I thought I'd share it with you.

All because we seek outside approval...when all that really matters is God!

Don't forget that Satan is the master of negative self talk...he always finds a way to creep in.

What a powerfully penetrating quotation.

Are we people-pleasers, or God-pleasers?

Great question, which we must constantly ask of ourselves.

I, too, have been pondering this word. There's truth there to selah for a while!

Thanks for sharing with everyone in blogland.

Amen to Cheri's comment as well!

Love you girl!

You know, I ask myself that same question from time to time when I catch myself spinning my wheels.

I know it. We can get all caught up, wrapped up, into things that do nothing but tear us down and make us feel terrible.

Where is my focus?? Who is my focus??

I need to be put back on the path about 100 times a day.
Have a wonderful weekend Steph.
Happy Mothers Day weekend.
Hugs~

As the Bible says, "He must increase and I must decrease." But we get stuck living the other way around. We want to increase. Think how humble John the Baptist was when he was able to lay down his entire ministry to make way for the Lord. The thing I hear about you Stephanie again and again is your willingness to allow Christ to take center stage and yourself to simply disappear behind His radiance. That's serving, sister - and I don't mean serving your ego. I mean serving the body of Christ. And you're serving up what we really need... which is Jesus.
