Just a Quick Thought

Tonight is Bible study at my house.

Here is one of the things we're going to talk about...

God did not deliver us (forgive, save, restore) to stay in the same spot. He delivered us from something to take us TO something.

Oh and that word I referenced here is Promise.

I wish I had thought of this earlier, but I didn't. Even if you NEVER comment, and I know who you are, ;) would you please leave me a comment and tell me about one of God's promises that has been "life" to you. I would love to be able to read a few tonight...with my real life siesta's.

Have a great Thursday!

Isaiah 43

But now, this is what the LORD says—
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
"Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.

3 For I am the LORD, your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I give Egypt for your ransom,
Cush [a] and Seba in your stead.

4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
and because I love you,
I will give men in exchange for you,
and people in exchange for your life.

I love that He goes into the fire and through the water WITH us. I remember being little and afraid of the water. If my parents were holding me I was okay and not afraid, but if I ventured away from the side of the pool alone, I was terrified. Same with God. When we go out into the deep water WITH Him, it is much less scary than when we go alone.

He doesnt send us into the fire - He takes us through the fire. Remember the 3 Hebrew children? God was in that furnace with them - they came out, but the Bible never says He came out - He is still in that fiery furnace waiting to deliver us from the flames.

Hope the Holy Spirit rains down on your house tonight during Bible study!!! Woohooo!! Can I come????

Romans 8:28-29
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

He has promised me that he will TOTALLY redeem ANYTHING in my life. And that the best good that could come from it would be my transformation into the likeness of Christ. That, dear sister, is LIFE to me.

I thought the word was blessing.

Hey Steph,

Okay, I admit it. You really got me with, "God did not deliver us (forgive, save, restore) to stay in the same spot. He delivered us from something to take us TO something."

That statement started God urging me toward a "change." I've blogged about it and linked back here.

Know that I'm claiming God's provision and plan for my life today.

Much love,
~Cheryl

I'm late, too, but it's always time to talk about God's promises.
Here is mine...(oh, man- it's hard to pick just one!!)
"In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you. I will keep you and make you to be a covenant for the people.
(Isaiah 49:8)

Sorry I missed your deadline! But better late than never is what they say. I've been focusing a lot on God's promises lately. I like Isa. 54:13 where it says "all your children will be taught by the Lord and great shall be their peace." Oh, that my kids will have peace! How wonderful!!! :)

Glad God showed up for your study! I'm sure you did a great job!
